Description

Based on a sketch by Relichian... see link below. I added a bg and corrected the horse's atonomy. Had alot of fun coloring it because since it wasen't my sketch I wasen't afraid to obscure some of the details with shadows as much. I think it helped and I'm now less afraid of shadows. I also tryed a new was of coloring. Less sketchy than I usually do. As far as enviroment goes I was thinking walking across the moon except there is a atmosphere. So I suppose it would actually be on earth with a very brilliant full moon.

Usually I work at 300dpi but for this one I tryed something new and just worked at 72 DPI so before I posted it I didn't have to resize.

I really recommend you to work with lower opacity brushes. This way the color will melt and it will look a lot more dynamic

This is a great piece.

Personal crit: It would have been better served if you had spent a little more time on it. In a lot of places it seems rushed like you were wanting to be done with it. Hehe...I get that, too. Sometimes I will find myself rushing for the end result, but if we stop ourself from rushing then it makes the end result that much better. Of course, this is a personal crit...so take it or leave it. :)

Cool (thumbup) Moonlight can give a bit of a bluish tint to things- that might be something to consider.

looks good, but parts like the larger rock on the right seem unfinished and don't mesh with the rest of the painting. i like what you did with it though

Nice work Carrie :) I tend to agree with mol about spending a more time on it - it has a rushed, unfinished look. Keep it going!

Nice, I can see and improvment in your works, still has a slightly scratchy feel to it, blend the colours more. Overall though a nice improvement, well done +5
